Pedro Magalhães of Europalco Honoured at The Eventeers 2025

LISBON – Pedro Magalhães, founder and CEO of Europalco, the largest provider of solutions for events and shows in Southern Europe, has been awarded the Ingenuity Award (“Engenho” category) at The Eventeers 2025. The award ceremony took place during Reinvent the Event, Portugal’s main annual forum for meetings and events professionals, at the Centro de Congressos do Estoril.
The Engenho category celebrates professionals for whom “the impossible does not exist,” recognising those who consistently find solutions through creativity, perseverance and technical mastery.
Reflecting on the recognition, Pedro Magalhães said: “It is with great pride and satisfaction that I receive this award at Reinvent, organised by Event Point. I see it as a tribute to a 39-year journey driven by the desire to innovate, to do things differently, and to create what hasn’t yet been done.
To innovate is to take risks—and in our sector, those risks happen live, without rehearsals. The pressure is immense. There are moments when I tell myself, ‘That’s enough, I can’t keep taking these kinds of risks.’ But when it all comes together and I see everyone’s satisfaction, I forget the stress and immediately start thinking about the next challenge.
It’s a cycle that never ends. When you love what you do, it’s impossible to stop. Still, as the years go by, I sometimes ask myself how much longer I can keep doing this—but the desire to create always speaks louder. Continuing to innovate is, and always will be, my greatest challenge.

The Eventeers jury selected Magalhães from a strong field of professionals known for their ability to solve complex challenges in real time. Nélio Lima, Europalco’s Technical Director, and João Cardoso, Managing Partner and Business Development at New Audiovisuais, were also finalists in the Technology category, underscoring the company’s depth of expertise and commitment to innovation.
This recognition further consolidates Europalco’s position as a benchmark in the live events industry, renowned for its technical excellence, creative vision and reliability in the most demanding projects.
