NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
If being in the city of music strikes a chord with you, know that there are plenty of adventures mere steps (or a quick Uber) away from Music City Center. Wash your hot chicken down with a buschwacker before hollerin' and swallerin' your way down Music Row. Or if that's not quite your tempo, check out these off-the-beaten path gems Nashville has to offer. By: Caitlin Howle
WALK THE LINE
Lean into Music City tradition and head over to the Country Music Hall of Fame, or get to know Nashville royalty at the Johnny Cash Museum and Patsy Cline Museum, which are also within walking distance of Music City Center.
ONE TEQUILA, TWO TEQUILA
Tennessee whiskey has its place, but every tequila lover's must-stop is Pushing Daisies, which serves up margaritas, tequila-based cocktails, and straight tequila. Fun fact: “Margarita” translates to “Daisy” in English.
OPEN ROAD
Nashville's got something for car enthusiasts who cross its borders. A quick ride from Music City Center is the Lane Motor Museum, which features the largest collection of European cars and motorcycles in the United States. In addition to that is a collection of custom- made vehicles that must be seen to be believed.
EAT, DRINK, AND BE MERRY
What do drinks, fine food, and burlesque have in common? Find out at Skull's Rainbow Room, where burlesque performances take place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.
NO PICS OR IT WON'T HAPPEN
For a unique cocktail hour, take the secret tunnel to a “multimillion-dollar collection of art, European antiques, and magic-related artifacts,” located in the restaurant and craft cocktail lounge that is House of Cards. But skip it if you're looking for pictures for the 'Gram — House of Cards has a strict no-photo policy and it also has a dress code.
PRINT RULES
Hatch Show Print is a poster shop and letterpress that has been in operation since 1879, turning out a visual history of what makes Nashville Nashville. It offers tours and a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into printmaking and even lets visitors get a little inky by making posters of their own. Bring a bit of Nashville home, update your booth graphics, or who knows — you might even create the next viral concert marketing campaign.
SAUCE BOSS
When you get hungry in Music City, trying some Nashville BBQ is imperative. Near Music City Center is Jack's Bar-BQue, a staple that's been around since 1976, and won first place in The American Royal World Series of Barbecue in 2014 for “Best Sauce on the Planet.”
IT'S ALL GREEK TO US
One of Nashville's many nicknames is Athens of the South, and there's a good reason for it. Centennial Park, which is a small ride from Music City Center, features the world's only full-size replica of the Greek Parthenon, shrine to the goddess of wisdom, Athena.
NASHVILLE'S HEART
A little walk from Music City Center is Music Row, one of Nashville's claims to fame, where most record labels hold their offices. While taking in some of the places where country music's biggest stars have recorded their music, stop to look at the famous Musica statue, which promotes the embodiment of music through dance. Here's a fun fact: The statue was considered controversial because it portrays nudity.
DUCK!
At Pins Mechanical Co., get old-school entertainment in a modern setting. This local bar features duckpin bowling and classic pinball. Everything old is new again.
PUZZLING PURSUIT
The Escape Game Nashville is the ultimate teambuilding activity. Here are plenty of puzzles developed by a company that worked on “Only Murders in the Building: Escape Game” and “The Mysterious Benedict Society” on Disney+. Do you and your team have what it takes?

RANDOM FUN FACT:

Nashville is known for its famous residents and influencers, and some may be more unusual than you think. Very good boy Doug the Pug, known primarily for being a pug, hails from the Athens of the South. He currently has 3.6 million followers on Instagram alone. Woof!
