New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Recognized as Top Workplace in the Region for the Ninth Time

7/2/2025

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOENMCC) has once again been recognized for its leadership in both employee engagement and hospitality services, earning the regional 2025 Top Workplaces award from The Times-Picayune and being named the winner in the Best Event & Meeting Facility category in the New Orleans CityBusiness Reader Rankings.

These local honors follow national recognition earlier this year, when NOENMCC was named a 2025 National Top Workplaces USA for the second time, an award that highlights exceptional workplace culture across the country. Together, these accolades reinforce the Convention Center’s continued commitment to excellence both locally and nationally, marking its ninth regional Top Workplaces recognition and its fifth CityBusiness Reader Rankings win.

“These recognitions are a testament to the people who power our mission every day,” said Alita Caparotta, Convention Center Interim President and CEO. “From event planning to guest services to facility operations, every member of our team plays a role in helping us set the standard for both meetings and careers in New Orleans.”

The Top Workplaces award, now in its 11th year, is based entirely on employee feedback gathered through an independent survey conducted by Energage, a third-party employee engagement technology firm. The survey measures 15 drivers of engaged workplace cultures, including alignment, execution and connection.

The Convention Center’s team includes more than 425 employees, with an average tenure exceeding nine years. The organization has invested upwards of $12 million in employee education and training programs and offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports both personal and professional growth.

Simultaneously, readers of New Orleans CityBusiness voted the Convention Center as the winner in the Best Event & Meeting Facility category in the publication’s annual Reader Rankings. With more than 1.1 million square feet of contiguous exhibit space and more than 100 events hosted each year, the Convention Center is the largest and most flexible event venue in Louisiana. Its $557 million capital improvement plan, including the development of a headquarters hotel and the adjacent River District, is designed to further elevate New Orleans as a top-tier meetings destination.

CityBusiness published the full list of Reader Rankings in their June 27 edition. The Top Workplaces special section was included in the June 29 edition of The Times-Picayune and previewed at a reception on June 25 at the Higgins Hotel.
