Exhibitor Group and The Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) have teamed up to launch a certificate program called Trade Show Foundations: Mastering the Basics.
This program's goal is to provide those who are new to the industry with basic information to help them succeed in their careers.
This program will cover:
- Purposes, history, size and significance of trade shows in various economic sectors
- Basic trade show components, types of exhibits, configuration categories, and venues used for shows
- Companies, suppliers, facilities, and jobs involved in the trade show ecosystem
- The design and development of exhibits, from decision-making to load-out
- Show services, technical aspects, and on-site logistics
- Elements of an effective and seamless trade show experience
Trade Show Foundations: Mastering the Basics is a four and a half-hour course comprised of three 90-minute sessions. Attendance at all 3 parts of the course is required to receive your certificate.
Speakers
Stephanie Gibbs is the Director of Events at Exhibitor Group, where she brings a wealth of experience in event management and client services. A graduate of the Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) program, Gibbs earned her certification in 2014. Before joining Exhibitor Group, she excelled as the Client Services Manager at Star Exhibits & Environments, where she led a team of Account Managers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators. Earlier in her career, Gibbs served as an Event Specialist at Merrill Corporation. She holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Travel, and Tourism from St. Cloud State University.
Kelly Brown is the General Manager at STAR - Durham and a member of the EDPA. Her career journey includes roles such as Manager of Account Services and Senior Account Manager, where she gained extensive experience in the trade show industry. As a progressive leader, Kelly leverages her knowledge to foster a dynamic work environment that drives innovation and long-term success. She began her career in events at Pri-Med as an Educational Development Manager and holds a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire.
